So I promised…

29 06 2007

To write you more about Grad when I got home, well, I’m home. Here it goes.

7:12 – Wake up, wander aimlessly, slowly doing nothing.  That lasted until around 8 when I went for breakfast, I barely ever go for breakfast so this was kinda weird, but I ate with Kristy so it was all good.  I then packed up my room, went to pick up my dress pants from the tailor, and went back to the school.  I ate and sat around in my pajamas doing nothin until about 2:0o. That is when the light show happens, I shower, shave, do my hair, yes I did do my hair, get ready, change my shirt, change my shirt again, tie a tie, change my shirt, and tie another tie.  Our class gathered and put our cpas and gowns on, and soon it was time to rock and roll.

Grad started and the ceremony was awesome.  I cried I admit it.  I passed the torch, recieved my diploma, and all that good stuff, took about 586 pictures. Then took more.  the banquet was absolutley beautiful.  Plently of surprises and family to go around.  After grad was a gong show, but with our class, it worked well, for the most part.  We ended up going around Regina randomly, it was a blast.  As we were driving aimlessly the subject of marriage some how came up.  It winded up in me asking Darren for his blessing so I could marry his cousin Carly.  She’s cool.  We got hitched in the McDonalds parking lot, or Mick Dicks as Murray and I call it.  Anyway, my best man was my main man Joel Peterson, following up in my wedding party was Kresten Krogagaard and Ryan Husband.   They didn’t show up for our imprompto wedding.   Nothing official though, don’t worry.  Anyway, in the van we were told I didn’t kiss the bride, holy cow. AWKWARD.   So as a bunch of people stared at me and Carly, I yelled, “holy smokes look at that car” As everyone looked I gave her a nice wedding kiss on the cheek.  (We gotta keep it PG here, sorry) I got one in return as well, but she didn’t go tricking anyone, she just straight up kissed me check.   Oh, our wedding meal was McDonalds, for all you detail nuts out there. Weddings are sweet.  I want to have a real one sometime. Eventually after watching a romantic movie and stuff she went to bed, and I went to Ryan Husbands house.  We watched some volleyball, played with a fire, and generally stayed up all night.  Most of us that is.  A group of 10 of us then ventured out to Smitty’s at 8 in the morning.  Yet again, gong show.  No one was functioning properly, it was a giggle fest. After that we went our separate ways and I packed, and ate, and stuff.  Now I am home, if I missed anything, spelt anything wrong, or this blog didn’t make any sense in general, it would be because I have been up for over 36 hours straight.

Goodnight

Brayden

Homemade Ice Cream and Stargazing

28 06 2007

That’s what I did last night. I was picked up before 7, when I was supposed to be picked up at 7. Girls, if your picking a guy up, don’t be 15 minutes early, he will have just started to get ready at that time. Anyway, after leaving the school we, Amanda, Chelsey and I went to Will’s house to make ice cream. We played some Wii, ate watermelon, played some more Wii while eating watermelon. Then we started on the ice cream. There is a fancy ice cream maker Will had, so it was relatively easy, that is if you follow the directions, but as a wise man once said. “Directions are for wimps” (See previous post, My Wildest Fear)

Our ice cream turned into a milkshake and I was driven home by Chelsey, home being the dorms I guess. We sat out in the parking lot, and we were having a good discussion so I leaned back my chair of her 2003 Volkswagen Jetta and opened the sun roof, and star gazed. It was pretty fun, I should do it more often.

This blog is basically dedicated to all my friends down here in Regina that I probably won’t see for a while. I’m gonna miss you all. Thanks for the beautiful two years. You rock.

My Wildest Fear

26 06 2007

I think it is about time I start opening up and become more personal in these blogs.

I don’t think I really fear many things, maybe I do though. I usually fear things I don’t understand, like girls, and healthy food, and screamo music. There is one thing that I absolutely fear, probably more than anything else. Hold your breath now folks, sit down, and if you need to go to the washroom, do it before you read this.

I fear electricity. Getting electrocuted or even a little shock. I remember those stupid pens and staplers that gave you a little *ZaP* when you pressed them, I hate those. Some people might be a little confused to why I fear this. You know, I do wire my own car stereos and put neon lights in my car, and all those goods. The fact is, a car stereo takes a half hour to install, I have spent over an hour removing the ground from the battery of a car so I don’t get zapped.

Tonight Bill Perry made me face my fear, we were working on my A/C in my car, and out of the corner of my eye I see this spark. Crap. He is holding some switch wiring something to the battery to make sure it works. Sure enough it does. “Hey Brayden, hold this here while I check something” By the way, for your information, the car is running. Eek. So I carefully grab this wire with two fingers, stretch my arm as far away from my body and touch it to the battery…. BAM, just jokes. Nothing happened, but it was terrifying for me.

On a side note. Bill and I had spent the last two ngihts trying to get my A/C to work, trying everything imaginable. Then Raysha comes up and says “Maybe your hose is broken” hose being the hose from the freon container to my car. Sure enough, it was broken.

A quote from Bill to end the night off well for my readers…

“Those directions are small, who cares, directions are for wimps”

This song came on the radio that other night, I was having a bad day and I was angry at alot of things, and alot of people.  When this song came on I realized I am significantly blessed.  I go to a private Christian school.  I live in the dorms, I work, I have a loving family, I graduate in 5 days.  There are so many things that I have that I often shrug off and say it’s not a big deal.

Me and Momma G

22 06 2007

I found a gopher around the school yesterday.  It was pretty cool, it was just laying there, it almost looked like it was sleeping.  It wasn’t. It was dead.   So I started showing people, I named him Spot, later to be changed to Gainer.   So I showed Mrs. Gurel, she was impressed

“Let’s skin it” she said
“Really?” I asked
“Yeah sure, I’ll go sharpen my knives.” She answered
“Sweet”  I replied

So last night we skinned Gainer the Gopher.  Mrs. G knew the anatomy of a gopher pretty good, I think she had done it before.

Happy Belated Birthday Mom

20 06 2007

It was my mom’s birthday yesterday, I didn’t really want to write about it on here, because I didn’t know what she would think about it.  So I didn’t.  It was also Father’s day on Sunday, I considered writing a blog about my Dad.  But I didn’t.

Today is my final day of classes of my high school career.  I remember back to the first day of grade 9.  Mr. Grosean’s Ethical Living class.  I remember my first final exam, Ms. Fernet’s English 9A.  Then my first day at Western, my first night in my dorm room, My first day of grade 12.  My last day of grade 12….

I remember being told in grade 9 by our Information Processing teacher, Mrs. Robertson, “If you don’t know what you want to be when you grow up, your screwed.”

Well Mrs. Robertson, I still don’t know.  So take that.

Since coming to Western and having the relentless Christian influences I have had, I feel called into Ministry.  I really don’t know where I am to be, or when I am to be there.  With all things, if you trust in God, he will deliver.

Around Saskatchewan in a day

17 06 2007

So after work on Saturday I started my adventure.  I headed out to the Elford farm for Jesse’s grad party.   I went the wrong way, thanks to some faulty directions, but I made it, after hitting a bird, and running over a rabbit.  It was a good time, eating marshmellows and burgers.  At around midnight I headed back into the city, fueled up, and got some coffee. My campanion Alex joined me until Disley.  I then headed out on my trek to Saskatoon.  I made it into town at around 3:30, went to bed and woke up for Sunday morning.  I called my dad and wished him a happy fathers day, then walked up to his room and gave him a hug.  Quite a nice surprise I think.  My mom was the only one that knew I was coming home.  After church it rained and rained and rained some more, so I was in no hurry to get back to Regina.  We had a lovely steak lunch, then a lovely pizza supper.  Soon enough I was on the road back to Regina.   After leaving Regina the first time just a tad more than 24 hours, I’m tired.  Goodnight

Brayden.

Multi purpose

16 06 2007

I watched a movie clip of a fight scene between Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris, if anyone knows the title of the movie, leave a comment.

After my team won Amazing Race Western Edition yesterday, today was grade 12 skip day.  I don’t know if you can declare it skipping, because we had permission, and a adult supervisor, thank you Bill Perry.

We headed out to Bethune for the afternoon to Kristen’s house we played some frisbee, 500, dodgeball on a trampoline, we ate food, sat around a fire, and some of us chopped down trees.  One of the best things was that Kristen’s dad plays in a band, and tonight was practice night, so we had live entertainment for most the night.  The group that went out was awesome, most of the grade 12’s, and we were tight the whole night, slightly surprising to me, but everyone was just enjoying the moment.  It is crazy to think that we are less than 2 weeks away from grad.  Some of these people I won’t see for a long time, that bums me out like crazy.

Oh yeah, can’t forget 5 guys breaking out into song in the back of a 15 passenger bus.  The battle belongs to the Lord.

Brayden

P.S. This is the first time I’ve had live entertainment while I went to the washroom.  No they weren’t in the bathroom, but in the next room over. So it was pretty much live.

Blog Drought.

14 06 2007

I haven’t really had time to write lately, with a week til finals start, one more YoungFriends training session, and only 2 weeks til grad.  I’m a busy boy.   Last night I went to youth over at Living Hope, dang, it was awesome.  Spiritually driving and intense worship.  You could feel God in the room.  Wow.

In other news, I am the new Dish-room Idol.  Tuesday at dishcrew I sang a very enthusiastic “Brand New Girlfriend” by Steve Holy.  Jordan came in and said I was the new Dish-room Idol.  I don’t know how I really feel about that.

This afternoon is school awards and Farewell.  Basically all the smart people get awards.  The rest of us are mostly bored.  But congrads to all the winners.  Farewell is kinda a downer, we get all pumped about the end of the year, and have this party, then it’s over.  Farewell to me is just like celebrating your dog is going to die 2 weeks before it actually does.  I don’t know.  It is supposed to be fun, so I’m going to go strap a smile on my face and have a good time, with all these good people.
